Strand Road assault: Police appeal for witnesses

Police in Foyle are appealing for information after a report of an assault at the Strand Road area on Wednesday, February 12.

Between midnight and 1am, it was reported that a man was walking along the William Street area towards the Great James Street area. As he waited in the area, a man was walking along the Strand Road area when he crossed the road and punched the man in the face with both fists. It is also believed the man kicked the victim while he was on the ground. The man is not believed to have sustained any life-threatening injuries.

Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw the incident to contact police in Strand Road Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
