A Derry man has said he was shocked to find a bag containing what he believes to be drugs in an area close to a number of schools on the Northland Road.
The man, who did not want to be named, said he found a bag containing white powder on the ground on Northland Road close to Glenbank Road on Friday morning.
“This is an area close to a number of schools where hundreds of young people regularly walk,” he said.
The suspected drugs were handed to the IRSP who gave them to Rosemount Resource Centre for destruction. An IRSP spokesperson said; “Whoever left this there had no regard for the safety of the public. Anyone could have picked this up.”
