A teenager has admitted driving a car through the wall of a Derry primary school.

Sean McConnell, of Roskeen Park, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol, taking a car without authority and driving without due car and attention.

The 18-year-old also admitted having no licence or insurance and fail to stop or remain at the scene an accident.

The charges relate to an incident at St.Eithne’s Primary School on July 25.

Sentencing was adjourned for a probation pre-sentence report to be compiled.

The court heard the teenager, who attends a special needs school, took a family members car without permission.

He was disqualified from driving by District Judge Barney McElholm.

The length of the disqualification will be determined at the next hearing.

McConnell was released on continuing bail to appear in court again on October 9.
