Two charged over alleged Westland Street incident

Two men have been charged with disorderly behaviour following disturbances in Westland Street in Derry at the weekend.

The two men, aged 29 and 32, have been charged with disorderly behaviour and are expected to appear at Derry Magistrates Court on August 31.

A 16-year-old boy who was also arrested has been released on police bail.

Detectives at Strand Road are currently investigating the alleged disturbance in Westland Street in Derry in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Detective Sergeant Michelle Boyd said that at around 4am on Saturday morning police were called to an alleged fight outside a block of flats.

It is alleged that around 30 people were involved.

As is usual procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
