Unfit to ride cycle, assaulted police

A 25-year-old who was charged with assaulting police and resisting arrest, as well as disorderly behaviour and using a bicycle while unfit through drink or drugs, has been handed a community service
order.

Caolan Fox faced the charges when he appeared at Derry Magistrate’s Court on Friday morning following incidents in Leafair Park and Bloomfield Park on April 7 earlier this year,

The Moss Park resident was ordered to complete 180 hours of community service.

District Judge Barney McElholm told him: “Complete that and it will be the end of the matter.”
