A woman who shoplifts ‘almost as a way of life’ has been jailed.

Kerri Leann Ogilby, of Clooney Terrace, pleaded guilty to burglary and theft between February and March.

Derry Magistrates Court heard the 31-year-old stole cosmetics and jewellery from Marks and Spencers, a store which she was banned from.

She also stole cosmetics from Superdrug and leggings from Internacionale.

It was revealed the 31-year-old has 24 previous convictions for theft.

Defence counsel Eoghan Devlin told the court Ogilby has a number of difficulties and was very heavily pregnant when she committed the offences.

District Judge Barney McElholm jailed Ogilby for four months.
