Derry Sinn Fein councillor, Mickey Cooper, is urging as many community groups as possible to get involved with CultureTECH later this month.
A special community training workshop will take place on September 18 and Colr. Cooper said it offers local communities the chance to learn new skills.
“This is a great opportunity for community groups to engage in free media training being offered by professionals in the industry.
“The digital media has grown to become one of the main sources on how we get our news, buy our goods and communicate.”
Colr. Cooper said the course would be helpful to any community groups out there looking to engage with a local online audience.
“Community groups can learn how to maximise the potential of their projects through the digital media and communicate more effectively with local communities.
“The programme being hosted by VIEWdigital community media social enterprise and the North West Community Network will take place in the Holywell Trust in Bishop Street and groups should register at firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone on 028 7127 9090.”
CultureTECH is a digital media festival and will run in Derry from September 15 - 21. For more details visit the website, http://2014.culturetech.co/
