The family of a Waterside man who sustained serious injuries in a petrol bomb attack last weekend have appealed for anyone with information on the incident to contact the police.
Thomas Curry (pictured right), remains in hospital following an unprovoked petrol bomb attack on his home at Benvarden Avenue last Friday.
Sinn Féin Councillor Lynn Fleming has met with the family on a number of occasions in recent days and said the family have asked her to issue a fresh appeal for information.
“They just can’t believe that something like this has happened,” she said. “I have been in close contact with the PSNI over this and they have given an assurance that they are doing everything they can.
“The family have asked me to appeal to the wider community for any help in investigating this. Someone must know what happened in the run-up to this disgraceful and cowardly attack.
“They are asking anyone who knows anything that could be of use to get in touch with the police and ensure those responsible are brought before the courts,” she said.
