DUP MLA George Robinson has spoken of his honour at receiving an MBE medal at Buckingham Palace from the Duke of Cambridge.
Mr Robinson, who was a Limavady councillor for 28 years and has been an assemblyman for the past 12 years, said: “I feel very honoured and I’d like to thank those who nominated me because there are many others who are more deserving than me. I would also like to thank my wife Ann, son Alan and daughter Caroline.”
Mr Robinson said receiving the award was “fantastic” and said the occasion will be a day to remember for him and his family, including his three grandchildren and daughter-in-law Tracy who travelled to London with him. Mr Robinson managed to capture a snap with boxer Carl Froch who was awarded his MBE medal for services to his sport.
