A bed & breakfast in Rosemount has claimed third place in the Northern Ireland Hotels category as part of the online travel site Trivago’s inaugural Top Hotel Awards.

The awards, organised by the online hotel search website, uses aggregated online user ratings to recognise the highest-rated hotels, both nationally and regionally.

Rose Park Hotel finished in third place behind two other B&B’s in Northern Ireland.

Eight of the top 20 accommodation providers are classified as B&B’s, alongside 10 hotels, one hostel and one serviced apartment hotel.

Trivago’s spokesperson Denise Bartlett, said: “With the top three hotels classified as B&B’s, visitors to this region are clearly satisfied by the service provided by B&B’s – perhaps due to the relaxed, family-run atmosphere. Travellers are often simply looking for a home away from home, which is something B&Bs can easily offer.

“The Trivago Top Hotel Awards aim to judge all accommodation fairly, whether they are a five-star hotel in Belfast or a family-run B&B in the countryside. It is really encouraging to see such a range of accommodation, both in terms of price and geographical location, in our top 20.”

The awards, organised by the online hotel search website, uses aggregated online user ratings to recognise the highest-rated hotels, both nationally and regionally. Rose Park Hotel came in third place with a rating of 92.80.
