The finalists for the Derry 2014 Business Awards have been announced.

This years business awards will be run by Londonderry Chamber of Commerce and City Centre Initiative, in partnership with Bank of Ireland and the event will take place on Friday June 13.

One local organisation, CultureTECH, have been nominated for two awards, including one for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Arts and Culture’.

Speaking to DerryJournal.com this afternoon, CultureTECH’s head of marketing, Connor Doherty, said the organisation was over the moon with its three nominations.

“It’s an honour to be nominated for the Derry-Londonderry Business Awards, especially in a year that was so spectacular for the city. Being short listed for the Outstanding Contribution to Arts and Culture in the City of Culture year is quite an achievement. The calibre of nominees this year is exemplary.

“The digital industries is where Derry can develop and become a world-leader, and the range of work that the nominated companies are producing is wide, varied, and most importantly, really cool - the strength of the digital and creative sectors in the city means we’ve worked with all these companies in the past, and look forward to working with them again in the future.”
