Four Derry MLAs took part in the MS Society’s Cake Break in the Northern Ireland Assembly this week to support the charity’s campaign to raise £350,000 for Multiple Sclerosis research.
Foyle MLAs Maeve McLaughlin, Raymond McCartney, Pat Ramsey and Column Eastwood participated in the charity fundraiser which took place in Parliament Buildings at Stormont.
Cake Break is a scrumptious way to fundraise for people affected by MS across the UK. The event is happening on Friday 2 May and you can sign up yourself by going to www.cakebreak.org.uk. All you have to do is invite family, friends and colleagues to join you for some tasty treats in return for a donation.
Samantha Creighton, MS Society Community Fundraiser, said, “I want to thank all the MLAs for supporting our Cake Break. There are 4500 people living with MS in Northern Ireland and many thousands more affected. Cake Break is an important opportunity for everyone to show their support for people living with this condition.”.
