A rally will be staged in Derry on Wednesday night aimed at expressing solidarity with Palestinians in the wake of recent Israeli aggression.
Ógra Shinn Féin Doire will host the demonstration tomorrow at 7pm at the Guildhall.
It comes in the wake of the ongoing onslaught on the people of Gaza and the death of young Mohammed Abu Khdeir who was burned to death by Israeli extremists.
His 15-year-old cousin, American student, Tariq Abu Khdeir was also badly beaten by Israeli police in a subsequent attack.
Speaking to the Journal ahead of rally, chairperson of Ógra Shinn Féin in Derry Michael McCrossan said: “People in Derry are rightly horrified at the scenes on their TV screens each night of death and destruction on the streets of Gaza.
“In 2012 I visited Gaza as part of a Derry delegation and saw up close the conditions people have to live in there and it was shocking. It’s a daily battle for survival.
“The continual onslaught of the Palestinian people in Gaza is simply unacceptable and has to end now.”
Mr McCrossan added: “It’s important that people in Derry and across the world show their revulsion at what is going on there.”
