In what’s billed as being the biggest event to hit Derry since the Slide On event on Shipquay Street, local people who want to have fun while doing their bit for charity are being invited to sign up for Derry’s first ever ‘Colour Run.’

The run with a difference is being organised by Children in Crossfire and will take place in the city in March.

A spokesperson for the charity said: “Think of 2015 like it’s a blank canvas, and let local charity Children in Crossfire add a bit of colour to your plans for the year ahead.

“Children in Crossfire have joined in the world wide phenomenon that is said to be the happiest coolest 5k on the planet and will bring The Colour Run to the banks of The Foyle on Sunday March 22. Each runner comes wearing as much white clothing as possible, so think of yourself a blank canvas and as you run or walk the route each kilometre, colour artists will be waiting patiently for cover you in wonder powder paints.

“So whether you are an experienced runner beginning your marathon training, still on the couch but with a training programming in your hand, or just want to go out with your kids and have some fun, don as much white gear as possible and come join the fun.”

The entry fee is £15 per person and £7 per child

Organisers are advising that due to the large numbers expected, pre-registration for the event is essential . Those wishing to register can call The Children in Crossfire team on 02871269898or online at www.childrenincrossfire.org
