Derry’s Mayor Kevin Campbell has urged the North West public to get behind local singer Jordan O’Keefe when he performs in the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent at the weekend.
Wishing the young Drumahoe man all the very best at the competition, the Mayor said he was confident that Jordan had a very good chance of getting through to the finals.
“Jordan is a fantastic singer and performer and a really good role model for young people in this city. He has done the city proud so far it would be fantastic if he got through to the final stage of the competition. He has a lot of support and a strong fan base locally with everyone hoping he will continue with his success,” he said.
Encouraging people to vote for Jordan, the Mayor said it would be a tremendous coup for the city to have him represent Derry in the finals. “The city is still basking in the glory of the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend and Jordan getting through to the finals would be the icing on the cake,” he added.
