This Saturday, March 10, the women of the Triax Area will be hosting a remake of the classic TV series Room 101 as part of International Woman’s Day and asking the question, what would you banish?
Drawing originality from George Orwell’s 1984 Room 101 which has classically been a room where a worse nightmare is realised, was developed into a TV programme. This event however will see local women take it to the stage and debate their most annoying pet hates, and subsequently banish the worst to Room 101.
Hosted by local legend Margaret Gallagher and panellists coming from a combination of local community residents and community workers, there will be no end to the belly laughs.
Each year around the world, International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8. Thousands of events occur not just on this day but throughout March to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women.
Room 101 will be held in the Gasyard Centre this Saturday from 7.30pm with a BYOB policy. This event is open to men and women at a small cost of £3 per head with a contribution going to local charity.
Should you wish to get on the panel, please call Ami on: 71. 262812. Tickets can be purchased from Dove House, The Gasyard and Creggan Neighbourhood Partnership on Central Drive, Creggan.
