Sinn Fein election candidate for Foyle, Elisha McCallion, has said up to 80 new jobs will be created at the former B&Q site near Buncrana Road.

Mrs. McCallion said the company creating the jobs is British home, garden and leisure retailer, The Range.

“There was much disappointment in the city last year when the former B&Q business closed down here with the loss of many local jobs,” said Mrs. McCallion.

“It’s now great to see this site coming back into use and the retail company The Range creating up to 80 jobs.

“This announcement comes just week weeks before Home Bargains is to open a brand new store on the Strand Road creating 100 jobs,” she added.
