A charity cycle that took place in Dungiven has raised almost £4,000.
Maghera Cycling Club, Carn Wheelers organized a charity cycle in aid of the Children’s Heartbeat Trust, raising the fantastic sum of £1,770 to help children with heart disease in Northern Ireland.
The organizers would like to thank those who made and/or served refreshments, the Mayor of Limavady, Sean McGlinchey for his contribution and help towards marshalling, for those that ‘manned’ food stations, businesses who sponsored the event, the cyclists who attended the event and anyone else who contributed in any way.
Sarah Quinlan, Executive Officer with Children’s Heartbeat Trust said: “We are very thankful to Carn Wheelers Cycle Club for raising these essential funds. This will help us continue to provide support for parents and families of children with heart disease in Northern Ireland.”
As well as offering local family and parent support groups, the Children’s Heartbeat Trust works closely with the Clark Clinic at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children to help fund top quality medical equipment and initiatives, ensuring that children with heart disease in Northern Ireland receive the best care and treatment possible.
