Dungiven library official opening

The new state-of-the-art Dungiven Library will officially open on Friday with a schedule of packed events.

The Main Street facility opened to the public back in October.

Bernadette Mc Closkey, Dungiven Branch Library Manager, explained: “We are delighted the people of Dungiven can enjoy a brighter, more accessible library, offering a wider range of books for adults and children, DVDs, newspapers and magazines. We also have a meetings room which local organisations can hire. We will be able to run author events and have exhibitions which we were unable to do before due to lack of space. The library also has a much larger number of computers for people to use and offers a comfortable place to relax and escape.”

Friday’s opening includes a talk with best selling author, the Derry Journal’s Claire Allan. There will also be IT sessions, tradional music, tours of the library and a chance to trace your family tree with ancestry.com Dungiven Library’s opening hours are: Monday 2.00pm -5.30pm; Tuesday 10.00am - 1pm and from 2pm - 5.30pm, Wednesday 2pm - 8pm, Friday 10am -1.00pm and 2.00-5.30pm and Saturday from 10.00am - 1pm.
