The proud pupils of Scoil Phádraig, Rashenny were delighted to raise their second Green Flag last week at a ceremony in the school grounds.
This latest award by An Táisce was presented for the school’s efforts in reducing the amount of energy being used, and, for bringing the energy saving message to parents and the wider community.
During the presentation, the members of the Green Schools committee spoke of the initiatives they had set up in order to promote savings in electricity and oil usage.
School principal, Geraldine Mooney, congratulated the staff and pupils on behalf of the Board of Management and presented flowers to teachers, Nuala Doherty and Bernie Friel for their sterling work.
Shortly afterwards, Fr Sweeney presented certificates to the Green Schools committee members.
It was then down to Shauna McLaughlin and Ciara Grant , both committee members, to raise the Green Flag for Energy outside the school premises.
