Emergency services attended the scene of a house fire in the Tooban area of Burnfoot on Thursday morning.

Garda Superintendent Eugene McGovern said Gardai and the fire service were called to the scene at around 7.30am. The property, located along the Derry to Buncrana road, was vacant. It sustained “substantial smoke damage.”

Supt. McGovern said the fire “appears to be accidental.”

It is the second fire in recent days in Inishowen.
