Emma McLaughlin - Friends pay tribute to '˜beautiful person'

Friends of much loved Derry woman, Emma McLaughlin, who passed away on Monday have paid tribute to her on social media.

Facebook was full of beautiful and heartfelt messages after Emma lost her 14 year battle with a severe brain tumour on Monday.

“So sad to hear this. Emma was indeed a special person, always with a smile on her face and a hug for you. Rest in peace Emma, together again with your lovely Mammy and Daddy,” said Julie.

“I can’t believe am writing this, I grew up with Emma when we were kids, I lived a few doors away from her. She was such a beautiful person and that smile would have brightened up anyone’s day. R.I.P Emma. Heaven has gained another angel too early,” said Hannah.

Emma’s remains will leave the family home, 50 Garden City, at 12:30pm on Thursday for Requiem Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn at 1:00pm. After the funeral, Emma’s remains will be taken for burial in Cockhill Cemetery, Buncrana, Co. Donegal.

Emma is survived by her partner Harry, daughter Hope and siblings Claire, JR and Rory.
