Enagh Youth Forum (EYF) in Strathfoyle is hoping to transform part of Enagh Lough into a family friendly area next week.

EYF has organised a litter collection in area close to the lough and two days later it will be used as a place to host a family fun day for the local community.

David Bradley, from EYF’s Young Roots Heritage Project encouraged as many local people to get involved the event titled ‘Wild Action’.

“We are asking anyone who can volunteer a few hours of their time on the Tuesday to come along and ‘do one thing’ to help protect and enhance their local environment,” he said.

On Thursday August 15 the lough will play host to variety of activities including canoeing, fishing, a barbeque and a battle re-enactment.

The clean-up is part of a Loughs Agency’s Adopt-a-Stream initiative.

It is supported by Derry City Council.
