Last weekend’s Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town weekend in Carndonagh has been deemed a huge success.

Bank of Ireland hosted an exciting programme of activity in Carndonagh on Friday, 13th and Saturday, 14th November 2015, with events taking place in what was a buzzing Colgan Hall.

The ‘Enterprise Town’ initiative was organised by the bank in partnership with the local community in Carndonagh.

The initiative aimed to promote and drive business momentum for SMEs, the tourism sector and the wider sports and social community in the locality.

The schedule over the weekend included a Business and Community Expo on Friday and a Sports and Community Expo on Saturday. The official opening of the Enterprise Weekend had Neil Gallagher, Donegal All Ireland Winning footballer, cutting the ribbon.

Special guest speaker at the events was Mickey Harte, Tyrone Senior Football Manager and Saturday was the designated Family Day with food tasting, music, yoga, dancing and a selection of Disney Characters.

Noel Cunningham from TV3/Harveys Point Hotel was the special guest in attendance on the day, in what was a very strongly attended afternoon.

A number of businesses, not just from Carndonagh but across the whole peninsula, displayed their wares and services throughout the weekend in the hall and the local schools also got involved in the event.

Speaking about the event, Jimmy Stafford branch manager, Bank of Ireland said: “It was overwhelming to see the support shown by the local community.

“From 3pm on Friday right up to Saturday afternoon, the crowds kept coming. The wonderful community spirit in Carndonagh is fantastic and it contributed to making the Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town such a success.”
