Dungiven Sinn Féin Councillor Cathal Ó hOisín has called on the Roads Service to expedite the resurfacing of the roads in some of the older estates in the town, writes Sheena Jackson.
Councillor Ó hOisín stated: “Last year we saw the resurfacing work being carried out in places like Finvola Park and Mitchel Park and this was most welcome as they had not been done in more than 40 years.
“However there are estates like Priory Road, Rannyglass and Pellipar Park where the roads and indeed pavements are in such a condition that they really are a danger for residents and others to use.
“I recently attended a funeral in Priory Road and as the cortege was leaving it was possible to see the state of the road with people avoiding patchings, potholes and puddles.
“I have had a recent meeting with Roads Service and impressed on them the urgency of having the problems with this roads addresses as a soon as possible.
