Sinn Féin Councillor Eric McGinley has called a collective approach to tackle problems with vegetation on the streets of Ballymagroarty.

Colr. McGinley said all agencies should play their part in the upkeep and appearance of streets on the estate.

His call follows complaints about overgrown weeds, vegetation and blocked drains in the area.

Colr McGinley said: “A number of residents have contacted me about the appearance of the streets throughout the area. Some of the streets and lane ways are in a bad state .

There is a lot of overgrown weeds, vegetation and a number of drains are blocked. It’s clear there needs to be a systematic programme by the statutory agencies to do a massive clean up before the winter months.”
