A new heritage exhibition covering the mid-19th century to the early 20th century and people of Limavady Past opens in Limavady at the weekend.

Showcasing a selection of a “fascinating” collection by Nelson McGonagle, the exhibition will be on display at the Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre/Ionad Ealaíon agus Cultúir Ghleann na Ró in Limavady on Saturday, 10 January.

“This exhibition displays only a selection of a fascinating collection of black and white photographs that have been collected over the years from friends and other sources by Nelson McGonagle,” said a spokesperson.

“These photographs cover the mid-19th century to the early 20th century and serve as a great historic source on the various buildings and people of Limavady Past and are sure to bring back happy memories.”

The spokesperson said Limavady Museum is keen to collect more photographs relating to Limavady and the Roe Valley area.

“If you have anything that you think would be of interest, contact the museum on 028 7776 0650 or bring them along to us,” added the spokesperson. The exhibition will be on display in the Centre’s Ritter Gallery until 24 February. For information, visit roevalleyarts.com
