Birds of prey, bats and bugs will be the focus at a special wildlife fun day at the allotments in the Ballymagowan estate in Creggan tomorrow.

The event has been organised by the TRIAX Neighbourhood Management Team (T.N.M.T.) and will take place from 12p.m. to 2p.m.

The event is free of charge and will provide children with the opportunity to get face-to-face with beautiful birds of prey, search for insects and learn about local animal and bird life.

“It should be a fantastic day and we would hope to see many local families at the event,” said Kevin Campbell from T.N.M.T.

“We will also be using the fun day as opportunity to let people see our allotments in full flow.

“We have still have seven allotments available and if anyone is interested in taking one on all they have to do is come along to the event on Saturday and put their name down - we will do our best to make sure they get an allotment.”
