Have you ever wondered what it would be like to put your feet up in the Mayor’s Parlour? Well local people will have the chance to find out over the coming weeks when a series of special Tea With The Mayor events will be taking place in Derry’s Guildhall.
The Mayor of Derry, Councillor Brenda Stevenson, will be bringing out the best china and the fancy biscuits, and inviting citizens to come along for a chat and a cuppa in her parlour, and all in aid of two fantastic local causes.
Speaking ahead of the event she said: “I’m delighted to be able to issue an invitation to come along for tea and scones in the beautiful surroundings of the Mayor’s Parlour. It will be an opportunity to find out more about the role of the Mayor, and a bit more about myself.
“I’ve had a fantastic and eventful year so far, and I have really enjoyed meeting and greeting the people of the city at the hundreds of events I’ve attended. This will be a great chance to invite people in to my personal work space where they can see what it’s like to work in civic office. And I’m hoping to raise some much needed funds for my two chosen charities Something Special and Circle of Support for Autism Families.”
Anyone hoping to attend is asked to make a donation at their own discretion to the Mayor’s chosen charities.
The events take place from 3pm – 5pm in the Guildhall, Wednesday February 11, Wednesday February 25, Wednesday March 11 and Wednesday March 25.
