Fantastic response to charity swim

Redcastle Village Association wish to thank everyone who helped support the Redcastle New Year’s Day swim. Prize givers, helpers, fundraisers, Swimmers were all truly amazing. More than €3,980 was raised. This year the swim was in memory of the late John McGonagle and funds raised went to his three young daughters.

The Kids Club parental supervisors rota for January/February 2015 is as follows: Monday 26th January: Caroline McCauley and Kitty McNally. Monday 2nd February: Fiona Harvey and Mura Ruddy. Monday 9th February: Grace Quigley and Martina Whorisky. Monday 16th February: Donna O’Doherty and Marie O’Kane. Monday 23rd February: Mary Roberts and Josephine McLaughlin. If you are unable to supervise on your designated night, please swap with another parent for another night.

There was no jackpot winner in the QPCC/RCD Draw last Friday 23rd. The four €15 prize winners were H. Mullan, Drung; Edel Doherty, Bankhead; Emma Doherty, Carrickmaquigley; and Pat Barrett, c/o Callaghans. Winning numbers were 3,5,7 and 13. Next week’s jackpot will be €725.

If there’s a course or class you or any of your family members would like to see run at Quigley’s Point Community Centre, please contact the centre, and we will run it subject to demand. Courses and classes suggested to date have been sewing, cake decorating, and digital photography. Redcastle Football club - This year’s Underage registration day is on Saturday, 28th of February from 11am to 1pm in the club house, the fee is 10 euro per player. This money goes directly to the youth league for player registration. The reserve team played Buncrana reserves on Sunday last and lost 2-1, Cathal Crumlish got the Redcastle goal. The first team lost 5-0 away to Drumoghill in the Ulster Junior Cup. Underage football is currently running in the Community Centre ;the times and classes are, Wednesdays, 5pm to 630; 5th and 6th class . Fridays, 630pm to 745, 1st and 2nd class. Tuesdays, 6pm to 715,junior and senior infants and 7.30pm to 8.45 pm 3rd and 4th class.

In last weeks Parish draw the 1st prize of €200 went to Jerry Breslin, Promoter Rosalyn Margey, 2nd prize of €100 went to Anna Mc Elhiney, Promoter Pat Mc Carron and the 3rd prize of €50 went to Dan Mc Cauley, Promoter Phainsie Logue.
