Poliça and Bellx1 will perform in the magnificent setting of the Glassworks as part of the return of Other Voices on February 7.
For those who do not make it to The Glassworks there is a wide array of activity on offer across the city throughout the weekend, including live streaming from the Glassworks to a number of venues and bars in the city centre.
The now infamous Other Voices Music Trail will also make a welcomed return, and will see bands and artists from all ends of the country travel to Derry to perform on the Other Voices
The open call for Music Trail performers will begin at midday today and remain open until at midday on Friday 10th January. All applications can be submitted www.othervoices.ie /open call (Link TBC)
The Mayor Councillor Martin Reilly welcomed the news. He said: “The return of Other Voices fits perfectly with the Legacy Plan from Derry City Council and partners, a plan which will focus on 2014 as a City of Music, and I have no doubt that the lineup of artists will match the caliber we come to expect with the Other Voices production from Dingle. The Music Trail and its associations will provide a great platform for local talent and artists and the opportunity to engage community programmes such as the fantastic Music Promise. We will be ready to welcome visitors for a music weekend in which we can showcase our city and its musical flair.”
Tickets will be free and can be won through various online and media competitions so keep an eye on the brand new website www.othervoices.ie. Information on more artists and events will be released in January.
