People in Derry were this morning surveying the damage after heaving rain battered parts of the city last night.
At around 8 p.m. the heavens opened and heavy rain caused serious flooding in all corners of the city.
Worst hits parts included Lone Moor Road, Foyle Road, Strand Road and Little Diamond.
Last night council advised motorists to avoid the Foyle Road and Ann Street areas of the Brandywell because of localised flooding.
They advised that they were working closely with the relevant statutory agencies to deal with the situation which was caused by heavy down pours of rain.
