Rehearsals are now underway for the Millennium Forum Youth Musical Group’s production of the rock and roll musical, ‘Return To The Forbidden Planet’, which will perform on the Forum’s stage for three nights, August 9-11.
Judging by the high standards of previous year’s productions, ‘Sweeney Todd’, ‘Chess’, ‘Les Miserablés’, ‘West Side Story’ and ‘Fame’, this year’s show is set to be an unforgettable and truly inspirational project this summer, according to the producers.
Bob Carlton’s ‘juke box musical’ will be performed by an all local and hugely talented group of young people aged between 14 and 21 in the latest offering from the Forum’s Youth Musical Group.
Inspired by the motion picture, Forbidden Planet, courtesy of Turner Entertainment Co, this amateur production is presented by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Ltd. ‘Return to the Forbidden Planet’ will be the 2012 amateur licensed production and the smash hit West End musical takes the 1956 film, with plot taken from Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’, raids the Bard’s other plays at will (and not always absolutely verbatim) and sets it to a score of great pop hits from the 1960s and ‘70s.
‘Return To The Forbidden Planet’ will be staged at the Millennium Forum from Thursday, August 9-11 2012.
Tickets are now on sale priced at £8.00/£10.00 available from Box Office on T: 028 7126 4455 or book online at www.millenniumforum.co.uk
