Cashel Na Cor Learning Disability Association Limited in Inishowen is to receive 18,000 euro in funding towards the purchase of a new bus, it has been announced.
The funding has been granted from the Department of Health’s allocation through the National Lottery funds.
Minister of State, Joe McHugh Teachta Dála, told the ‘Journal’ he welcomed the news and congratulated Cashel na Cor on securing the funding.
He said: “I want to congratulate Cashel na Cor, Buncrana on securing this much needed funding for the purchase of a new bus.
“The service that is provided by the group is essential for the local community and for people with special needs or requirements and I want to commend them on all their hard work in securing this funding.
He added that the new bus would be extremely beneficial to the service and for the work carried out there.
He said: “Their focus is on creating a safe and secure environment, while improving services for these young adults, and this funding received for the purchase of a new bus will be of huge assistance to them in the carrying out this work.”
Cashel na Cor Resource Centre is situated outside Buncrana and caters for young adults.
