Rosemount Primary School have organised a gala concert at the Millennium Forum next month to celebrate their 100th anniversary.
The concert will feature the musical and dramatic talents of each and every pupil currently at the school, and will also showcase the talents of many former pupils.
The event on Tuesday 15th May will raise funds for the school.
Pat McCafferty of the organising committee said: “The whole school is involved and it is a great project to mark a wonderful milestone. Each pupil will perform either in a choir, a drama or a dance routine. Each year group will have their own presentation and in addition to the school choir, an all male choir and an all female choir have been formed by past pupils. They too will perform on the evening. It is a fitting tribute to 100 years of educational efforts and achievements.”
A number of music tutors have also loaned their time and expertise to the school, free of charge, in order to prepare the pupils for their big concert. They include Paul Cutliffe, Jenny Grant, David McGarrigle and Heather Buick. Compere on the night is former pupil, BBC star Sean Kelly.
Tickets costing £6.50 can be purchased from the school only. Contact them on 71 265605. If you can’t make the gala concert at the Forum then the school have also organised a special relgious celebration at St. Eugene’s Cathedral on May 4, 11am. All welcome.
