A well-known Derry musician, Geoff Wray, who appeared on the X Factor, died suddenly at his Newbuildings home on Tuesday evening.
Police have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.
The 32 year-old singer reached the last 50 stage in the 2007 series of The X Factor.
Geoffrey had a great start on the show having secured unanimous support from the then judging panel, Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Danni Minogue. Interviewed by The Derry Journal, the then 27 year old, described his X Factor experience as: “A bit of craic anyway and I’d like to do it again.”
Following news of his death, friends posted messages of remembrance and condolence on his Facebook page. One said; “Still can’t believe ,I’m never gonna see u again! Had such a laugh all summer with you. RIP mate. Lots of love xxx.” Another wrote: “You were a gorgeous talent and will be sadly missed.”
