Tributes continue to flood in for the late BBC Radio legend Gerry Anderson in advance of his funeral in his native city tomorrow morning.
Mr Anderson will be laid to rest in Derry City Cemetery following 11am mass at St Eugene’s Cathedral.
His heartbroken family told the Journal on Friday that he was “a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Gerry’s wife Christine said: “As a family, David, Kirsty and I are heartbroken but we know the prayers, good wishes and love of the public will help sustain us at this terrible time.”
The family also asked the public to respect their privacy at home and if they wished to show support they should attend the funeral on Sunday morning or make a donation to the Foyle Hospice.
The Derry Journal will be there to cover this sad occasion. Log onto www.derryjournal.com tomorrow afternoon to read our coverage.
The staff of the Derry Journal once more express their sympathy to the Anderson family at this sad time.
