Get writing in Greencastle

Budding writers in the Moville/Greencastle area are being encouraged to put pen to paper in a series of writing workshops set to take place in the Greencastle Community Centre.

Facilitated by local journalist and writer Ellen Barr, the popular ‘Write Here, Write Now’ classes will resume on Wednesday, January 28th from 7pm until 8:30pm at a cost of five euro per session.

The workshops will run for six weeks.

Speaking ahead of the first class, Ellen outlined what local writers could expect from the popular classes.

She said: “I’m delighted to be bringing the workshops back to the Greencastle Community Centre.

“Those who’ve attended previously will know that the classes are about talking, exchanging ideas and talking about great writing as much as putting pen to paper ourselves.

“The new workshops are open to everyone. Whether you’re new to creative writing or have taken the workshop before.”

Ellen added that main emphasis is “on fun, forming friendships, and enjoying the writing process.”
