Rossmar Special School in Limavady recently enjoyed their annual summer scheme and experienced a “great time with the community”.
Staff member, Charlene Trolan-Gibney explained: “I would love to share our great time with the community. We had cookery sessions where we made cheesecake, fruit salad, caramel squares, krispie buns, pavlova and Mars Bar squares. We also had a line dancing lesson and some music sessions alongside games sessions both inside and out set up by one of our volunteers William Cranwell.
“There were also art and craft activities in which we made egg carton insects, created butterflies with painted footprints, made paper weight monsters out of rocks. We also had a trip to Foyleview Sensory Garden, a trip to The Crescent in Portstewart and one to Brunswick Bowling in Derry. The kids had a brilliant time and we were very lucky to have three great volunteers to help us - Claire Fleming, Rebecca Kershaw and William Cranwell.”
