Derry’s Guildhall wil reopen later today, however the public will have to wait until June 10 to gets a first hand look at what it looks like inside.
The city’s historic building has been closed for the past year undergoing a major facelift and transformation that will secure its iconic status and cultural relevance for generations to come.
Since 2010, over £9.5million has been invested in the external and internal restoration project marking the transformation of this civic space to a multi-faceted visitor experience. The restoration project was funded by Derry City Council, Northern Ireland Tourist Board, Department for Social Development and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency.
The Guildhall will open to the public on 10th June, 2013.
