Prepare to be thrilled, spooked and spellbound by the award-winning Female Gothic theatre event at the Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre/Ionad Ealaíon agus Cultúir Ghleann na Ró, Limavady on Thursday 23 October at 8pm.
Brought to Limavady by the internationally acclaimed England-based Dyad Productions who have previously presented the mesmerising Austen’s Women and The Unremarkable Death of Marilyn Monroe, Female Gothic is the perfect night out if you enjoy the tradition of ghostly tales on a dark, autumn night as All Hallows’ Eve approaches.
A masterclass in storytelling, the celebrated Rebecca Vaughan performs as a haunted woman telling strange tales of the macabre and terrifying. In the thrilling tradition of classic horror writers MR James and Edgar Allan Poe, she weaves eerie stories of three lost gothic masterpieces which have gathered dust and been forgotten - An artist, gripped by the clutching fingers of a dead past; a scientist, defying nature in the dark realm of the senses; an expectant father driven mad by creeping shadows…
Described by the British Theatre Guide as capturing ‘that most intangible of theatre goals, the real fear of the audience’, as a ‘near perfect piece of theatre’ by the Edinburgh Festival Guide and directed by Olivier Award Winner Guy Masterson, this event is definitely not to be missed!
Tickets cost £12 full, £10 concession and are available by contacting the Centre’s Box Office team on Tel: 028 7776 0650 or visit their website roevalleyarts.com for more information.
