The first Derry Journal Derry People of the Year Awards gave our local unsung heroes the recognition they truly deserved.
Many recipients received standing ovations and cheers as they collected their awards at a lavish ceremony held in the Everglades Hotel earlier this month.

Winners included Laura McNutt, who took home the Young Talent Award: Laura McNutt; Edelle Canning, who was Volunteer of the Year and Sadie Kyle O’Reilly, the Charity Worker of the Year.
