Dr Eamonn O’Ciardha, a senior lecturer in Irish and English Literary and Historical Studies at the University of Ulster will deliver this month’s lecture for the local Historical Society.
Entitled ‘From Flight of the Earls to The French Revolution’, the lecture will begin at the Newbuildings Community Centre at 7.30pm on Wednesday, October 19.
The Flight of the Earls took place on September 14, 1607. The French Revolution began in 1789.
The lecture is open to all who wish to attend and is free of charge.
The Historical Society offers a monthly lecture on various topics of local interest.
Dr Eamonn O’Ciardha is a lecturer at the school of English and History at the Magee Campus of the University of Ulster.
