Cast members of the hit Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks will be in Derry on Monday to begin filming a new storyline.

Five members of the cast will be in the city for five days from Monday September 23rd to Friday September 28th as Lime Pictures, the company which produces Hollyoaks, films an exciting new storyline featuring some of the show’s biggest characters.

The Hollyoaks shoot has been funded by Arts Council NI through Northern Ireland Screen and throughout next week members of the cast and crew will be filming at prominent, recognisable landmarks in the city showcasing Derry-Londonderry as a location.

Shona McCarthy, Chief Executive of Culture Company 203 said:

“Having Hollyoaks in town will provide a great platform for showing Derry-Londonderry to a new young audience. The city is looking so fantastic at the minute I’m sure it’s going to shine like a real star of the show when the storyline airs on Channel 4 later this autumn.”

A Lime Pictures spokesperson said:

“Hollyoaks is known for its exciting storylines that often take viewers outside of the village and we are looking forward to shooting in Derry. “
