Welcome to Inishowen. We extend a warm cead mile fáilte to all of the visitors staying in Fahan, Inch and Burt over the summer. We hope you enjoy your stay in this beautiful part of Inishowen.

We offer our sympathy to the family and friends of Annie McGeady (nee Clarke), formerly of Mullarney and Moness, Burt and Annie Walker and family from Magherabeg, on the death of her grandson, John Hegarty, Lisowen Avenue, Buncrana.

Thanks to your generosity the Donegal Hospice collection raised 418 euro in Fahan and 19 euro in Lower Fahan and the Irish Wheelchair Association collection raised 338 euro in Fahan.

Fahan Community Council is operating a handyman service in Fahan, Inch and Burt. It offers minor cleaning, maintenance and painting in households where assistance is needed. The next Celtic Garden Music Trail will take place today (Friday) at 6.30pm in the IOSAS Centre. The cost of this beautiful event is 7 euro or £6, with refreshments being served afterwards. To book a place on the trail, call: (00353) 749384866 or email: goldenagecentre@hotmail.com.

A Programme for Young Adults aged 18 to 30 in the areas of health and mind coaching, starts September-November in IDP Buncrana. The programme consists of 10 sessions and there are 15 places available. To register now email mmccallion@inishowen.ie or phone: 0749362218/0872905922.

Summer visitors and locals are very welcome along to Burt Bingo, in St Mary’s Hall, every Tuesday at 9pm. A book or sheet costs 7 euro. Some books from the recent book sale will be on sale. We would love to see you.

This week’s winners of the Burt GAA lotto were Lisa Dowds, Newtowncunningham and Rosemary Campbell, Burt. The jackpot now stands at 1,800 euro.

Burt GAA is giving members of the Fahan, Inch and Burt community the opportunity to buy a brick in support of the new clubhouse extension. Your contribution will be acknowledged and your name displayed in new clubhouse. The club is also organising a Céili in St Mary’s Hall, Burt, tonight.

The National Pilgrimage to Croagh Patrick takes place on Friday, July 24. Mass on the summit is at 10am and in car park at 7.30pm. Reek Sunday is July 26, with Confessions on the summit from 7.30am to 2pm and Mass every half hour from 8am to 2pm.

Donegal Vintage Club is holding its vintage rally at An Grianan Estate, Burt, on Saturday, August 15.

Admission costs 5 euro and there will be lots to see. Everyone is very welcome.

The North West Golf Club, Lisfannon is holding lessons every Thursday, from 7pm to 8pm, for Juvenile girls and boys. Everyone is welcome.

Foyle coaches with Serenity House are organising a trip to Sligo on July 29 including a visit to Lissadell House, Glencar waterfall, Sligo town and a visit to the beautiful Mullaghmore and an evening meal will be provided on return journey. For more information please contact 0749382945.
