McClean, who is from Creggan Heights, donated £500 to Sofia Parke funeral fund on Monday.

The 27 year-old West Bromwich Albion player has helped countless people in Derry over the years.

Most recently McClean helped to pay for the funeral of a two year-old after he was knocked down on the Lone Moor Road in July this year.

Little Sofia was born with a heart defect and was rushed to hospital on her second birthday.

Sofia’s condition was so severe that medical staff made the decision to move her to Birmingham Children’s Hospital to receive specialist treatment.

Twenty four hours after little Sofia passed away a friend set-up a crowdfunding page to help the family pay for the funeral.
