The unemployment rate for the Derry and Strabane council area for October was almost twice the average for the North.
The number of people claiming unemployment related benefits in the Derry and Strabane council area fell by almost four per cent (260 people) for October. However, despite the decrease, the Derry and Strabane area remains the council area with the highest unemployment rate (6.7 per cent) in the North. The average unemployment rate for the North is 3.4 per cent.
At 7.1. per cent. the Foyle parliamentary constituency remains the constituency with the highest level of unemployment in the North. There are 18 parliamentary constituencies in the North of Ireland.
The monthly figures were released by the Department for Enterprise, Trade and Investment (DETI) on Wednesday morning.
