Dungiven man Joe Brolly is the TV pundit most fans would like to sit beside at the All-Ireland final, a new survey has revealed.

The Derry GAA All Star came out on top in the survey, taking 20pc of the vote. On hearing the results of the survey, Joe was somewhat taken aback by the findings.

Once composed, however, the organ donor campaigner (who has almost 35,000 followers on Twitter) told the ‘Journal’: “It just shows people have very poor taste! Assuming quite a high proportion of those who responded are women, where were they when I was running around single?” Joe, who gave a kidney to friend Shane Finnegan, supports changing the law to an opt-out system of organ donation across Ireland and became an internet sensation after his rant on RTE recently about Tyrone’s style of play in their defeat of Monaghan.

The Best GAA Fans study also found that 84pc would cut a holiday short for a trip to see their county on the big day and 41pc of people would give up a €5,000 lottery win if it meant their team would win the big prize in Croke Park.
