Journal special goes online to mark Saville one year on

A year ago on June 15 the truth was finally set free with the publication of the Saville Report into the killings on Bloody Sunday.

At that time the ‘Journal’ was proud to publish a one-off special edition marking the historic significance of the occasion for the people of Derry.

To mark the first anniversary, we’ve made a digital version of the Special Edition Journal, published in the hours after Lord Saville’s Report was made public, available again.

The special edition came in for particular mention in the Derry Journal’s citation in being given the Coca-Cola CIPR Weekly Newspaper of the Year award in a ceremony at the Europe Hotel in Belfast last Friday night.

It was highly praised at the time as a record of a special day.
