Kids’ fun activity summer camp

St Johnston Presbyterian Church is holding a fun activity camp this summer. It will be a week of fun and games for everyone. It is designed to introduce children to new activities and increase their participation in sport. Children are asked to dress appropriately for the weather. The activity camp will be held from Tuesday 4 - Friday 7 August. Age group is 6 to 13 years. Times are from 10 am to 2 pm. Please bring a packed lunch. Cost is €30 per child and €25 euro for subsequent children. Please look at the posters locally for further information.

The fourth Annual Binnion Mass Rock Walk departs Maggie’s Tavern, Carrickmore, on Sunday 26 July at 3 pm. The registration fee is €5 followed by BBQ and music at Maggie’s. Proceeds are in aid of Ballyduff Community Group Home, Lifford. The walk is approximately 4k. All are welcome. Carrickmore Charity Cycle will take place from Maggie’s Tavern on Saturday 25 July. Registration will be held from 1.30 pm. €20 per person or for a sponsorship card. Proceeds are in aid of Donegal Diabetes Association. Food will be served after the cycle.

The July Whist drive will take place on Monday, July 27 at 8pm in the Centre. €5 per person. A light supper will be provided. New members will be made very welcome.

Walk and Talk: The next Saturday walk will be held on 25 July to the Railway Walk Burtonport. The bus will leave St Johnston and Carrigans Family Resource Centre at 9am and return at approximately 5pm. This walk is open to all members of the community. All under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult. Cost €7 per person. Walkers please bring and wear appropriate clothes, pack a snack and bring money for a bite to eat on the way home. Places on the bus are limited so to avoid disappointment book a place by phoning the centre on (074) 91 48551 or contacting Sarah Hunter at the local shop.

The annual community holiday destination is award winning Westport, Co Mayo. Departing 10am Tuesday 29 September returning 5 pm Friday 2 October. Includes three nights B&B and four evening meals, daily trips out, evening entertainment and a promise of plenty of fun and laughs with great company. Bumps and Beyond Breastfeeding Support Group meets every Thursday morning in the Old Playgroup, Church Lane (situated behind St Baithin’s National School, St. Johnston) from 10.30am – 12.30pm. The Summer Youth Programme is for 3 years old to Third Year. It will run until 31st July. All children and young people must be registered by a parent or guardian. Pre-school children must be accompanied by an adult. Cost €10 per child. Maximum fee for a family is €25. Details of the programme can be found on the flip board at reception in the Resource Centre.
